Dremel 8000-01 10.8 Volt Lithium-Ion 5,000 - 35,000 RPM Cordless Rotary ToolRemember how cool we all thought that first Dremel was? We're reliving the feeling with this one: lighter, faster, smarter, better, and stronger. The main improvement over the last generation is the battery source: lithium-ion. There are so many reasons to applaud. Lithium holds its charge up to six times longer in storage than nickel-cadmium batteries, so it's ready when you are. Remember the disappointment when you were ready and your battery was low? That won't happen with this one. It's got a battery fuel gauge that tells you how much life is left before a recharge, so you won't be caught without your Dremel, and if you choose to keep it on its charger, you won't cause memory and shorten the charge capacity. It's small, it's light, it's comfortable and maneuverable; it's everything the corded models are, but without the cord. We love it. --Kris Jensen-Van Heste
FuturesSmall and lightweight for easier handling and less fatigue;50% more power to handle the toughest jobs;40% more speed; the highest speed available in cordless rotary tools;Holds a charge 6-times longer than NiCd batteries, so it's ready when you need it;Lithium-Ion batteries can be recharged at any time without damaging charge capacity or run-time;
Customer Review:Not impressedI am not impressed in the least with the 8000-01 model. I have been using dremel's for a number of years now and this is the first one I have purchased.
I am a service tech and do alot of traveling for repairs. I work on a lift or high on a ladder so extension cords are troublesome and possibly dangerous. Most of the places I go have limited outlet availability so the cordless model seemed perfect for me. I have used it less than 2 months and the speed guage is already malfunctioning, the battery lasts about 30 mins at best and it takes 3 hours to charge. I was going to purchase a spare battery but the average price I could find is $45 compared to $70 I paid for the tool. Not very cost effective in my book. Great for beadmakers!I love my new cordless Dremel. Put a diamond drill bit in there and I take it along to bead shows. When I need to adjust a bead hold, Viola! All I need is a cup of water. It also comes in handle cleaning out bead release. To me, it is worth its weight in gold.
Thanks to Amazon I found it and at a great price too! Nice....butI've used Dremel tools for years, but never actually owned one, so this year, after taking up RC airplane building as a hobby (Dad really wanted a boy ;-) ), I decided to go with the Li-Ion Model 8000. The Li-Ion technology is incredible, plenty of power, no memory effect, keeps it's charge...just about perfect.
One of the reasons I went with a Dremel was the attachments, here's where the disappointment comes in...many of the attachments don't fit this model (I hope I can add the word "yet"). So if you're ordering this and it's your only Dremel, make certain the attachment says it fits the 8000...don't assume, like I did, that there is backwards compatibility...there isn't. I learned this the hard way with both router table and hand-held router.
If you're considering this, an incredibly handy addition is the chuck...no more messing with collets...hooray! Also, you'd be wise to buy the 145 piece accessory kit, it adds a lot more versatility in cutting, shaping, and grinding.
All said, this is one of my favorite tools...now if Dremel would make some cool accessories that fit it, I'd be giving this five stars, rather than four! Keywords: Dremel; (Dremmel); Cordless Tools; Rotary Tools; (Rotery);

Yard-Man 11A-435D701 6.5-HP Yard-Man 3-in-1 Push MowerFeaturing a robust 6-1/2 horsepower engine, this sturdy little gas mower provides enough power for almost any landscape excluding unusually hilly lawns. An innovative Triple Care feature allows users to deal with clippings in one of three ways: collect them in a rear-mounted bag with 2-1/3-bushel capacity; discharge them through a side chute; or apply as a natural lawn fertilizer via the included mulch kit. A deep-dome, 22-inch cutting deck and patented mulching blade elevate and chop clippings so they decompose more rapidly; the waste is so finely cut that it disappears into the lawn for a clean, neat look. Hefty eight-inch wheels roll easily for less effort on your part and maneuver easily, even in tight corners. The nine-position fingertip height adjuster fine-tunes cutting elevation from one to 3-1/2 inches for a variety of lawn conditions. Two handles fold down for convenient transportation or compact storage. The Yard-Man 11A-435D701 comes fully assembled with oil in the carton, and is covered by a two-year, limited warranty. --Mary Park

Customer Review:Yard-ManVery easy to start. I like the fact that I don't have to mix the oil and the gas. A little hard to push once the bag starts getting heavy, but I love the easy mulch without all the raking! Height adjustments are a nice step up from all the cheapy mowers I've had over the years. I love this mower!!!! Great all-around mowerConsumer reports was right! This is a very good mower for the money. I have never ordered something so large through the mail, but with minimal assembly it was ready to go. The engine is very easy to start (usually only 2 pulls when cold, one when the engine is warm) Mulching & side discharge both work well. I have not tried bagging. It is definately easy to handle & move around all the obstacles in my yard, including a steep bank, trees, stairs, etc. As the household Yard-Woman, I love the Yard-Man mower despite the name! One of Amazon's Best ValuesOne Monday evening I decided that my Craftsman just wasn't cutting it anymore, as it seemed to drink all of the oil I kept putting into it. I came inside and without hesitation ordered this mower - and it was delivered fairly promptly (free shipping I might add). The FedEx delivered it right to my garage.
I was familiar with the name b/c I saw a Yard Man Tractor at Costco, so I figured I'd go with a smaller mower for the lawn I have.
For less than $200 this mower is awesome and a steal. Don't spend extra money on a self propelled mower, as this mower is VERY light-weight (probably 40 pounds or so) and is easy to push - and cuts the grass into tiny shreds - making for less bag emptying.
You don't even need to push the "cold start" button - it fires up right away - If you are looking for a great mower at a great value, BUY THIS ONE!
If you are looking to show up your neighbors with a nicer mower than theirs, either buy a more expensive one with functions you will never use or buy this one and replace the plastic wheels with Shiny-Steel rims.

Customer Review:Works GreatEverything just as I was expecting. Easy to put together.
Weed trimmer works great, even on thick grass, just a little slower and it works better for edging than my old gas trimmer. Would have been 5 stars except it takes 2 full batteries to do a typical "larger" front and back family yard. having 3 batteries was a BIG selling point for me, as I can do Edging one day, then blow away the trimmings and Hedge the next day.
Blower works good, not as powerfull as our electric, but adequate for the job.
Hedge trimmer works very well and 1 battery lasts long enough to complete all the hedges in front of the house.
For the $ you can't beat this set. Very Light and Easy to handle everything. My only complaint is the lack of battery run time with weed trimmer and also the blower.
I think as long as I don't let the yard work go too long, battery run time will work OK. Great itemThese tools are fantastic. I agree that they aren't the most powerful items on the planet, but they get the job done. They pack a good punch with a fully charged battery, and since there are 3 batteries, I haven't had to worry about running out of charge. The blower is strong enough for driveway sweeping, but I don't see it being very effective for whole yeard cleaning. The string trimmer is the main reason I bought this, and it hasn't let me down. The automatic feeder is great, no moure bouncing and prying to get the line fed correctly. And it has cut through everything I've put in front of it. I'd definitely recommend this to anyone. FINALLY...BETTER THAN EXPECTEDWe ordered the 18 volt Lawncare Center with some trepidation. WE've had good luck with the bigger Black & Decker cordless gear, like the mulching mower but - even with a relatively small yard, the smaller stuff didn't ast long...but...we took a shot. What a treat. First of all, the install...common sense, straight ahead and logical. The battery station and tool hangers go right up, very neat,thank you and on the wall and out of the way. Amazingly convenient...as is having three batteries on hand at any time. Sring Trimmer, Hedge Trimmer and Broom all more than enough power. ergonomically on target and get the job done...and at a bargain price. The CCC3000 now joins our Black and Decker 24 Volt lawnmower as an indispensible part of yard care. Keywords: Black & Decker; (Black and Decker); Cordless Tools; Combo Packs; (Volt); (V);

Porter-Cable 7518 3-1/4 HP Speedmatic 5-Speed RouterWhen it's time to step up to a bigger router, Porter-Cable's 7518 should be on your list of contenders. It has as powerful a motor as you can find on a router and a reputation for accuracy and dependability. It's designed to work with bits as large as 4 inches in diameter and has electronic soft start and five speeds, to ensure that you'll be able to use those giant panel cutters safely and smoothly. The large bit capacity also makes it a great poor man's shaper when mounted on a good router table. Like most of Porter-Cable's routers, this model features their autorelease collet system, which does a good job of eliminating the problem of frozen bits and the need for rapping on the collet to remove them. Of all the routers we've tried, Porter-Cable's are among those with the lowest vibration and cleanest cuts. One thing we wish Porter-Cable would improve on is the lack of a spindle lock, which means that two wrenches--and potential knuckle wracking--are involved in bit changes. But given that a router's real value is measured by the results it produces, we'd still recommend the 7518 as one of the best routers available and a great choice for any shop. --Brian Trinen

Customer Review:Super deal!The router arrived several days sooner than expected. So soon in fact, that I'm not ready to install it yet. The price was better than anywhere I could find using all available sources. The guy that works in the tool department at our local Lowes' store said I "stole it" at that price. No complaints on this transaction at all. And, with the name Porter Cable, you can't go wrong. Pricey but worth itI bought this router about a year ago to put in a router table. I spent a fair amount of time trying to decide between a router table with a big router or just stepping up to a shaper. I'm glad I went with the router table and router combination.
This monster has handled everything I've thrown at it without a sign of bogging down. The electronic speed control works well keeping the spindle at a constant rate under varying loads and the 5 speed feature allows me to use whatever size bit I need to to do the job.
I have used this to make raised panel doors out of hard maple. No burning and no problems.
Almost perfect!I am an amatuer woodworker. I bought the 7518 to put in my Bench Dog router table about 5 years ago. I did lots of homework on routers and a majority rated this router high on the list for router table use. I found that it has plenty of power to spare and will handle any bit that will fit in a 1/2 inch collet. It has five speed settings (10,000 to 21,000 rpm) which handle all of the cutting I have ever had to do. The on off switch is a rocker panel style (but I run my 7518 through a "Rousseau" switch that is mounted outside my router table). You do not want to be reaching inside a router table to turn off the power quickly. (The Rousseau is a better switch than the Bench Dog or any other method because it has a "crash bar" over the stop button that is near impossible to miss with hand or knee or anything else you might use.) If there is a drawback to using the 7518 in combonation with a router table, it is the inability of being able to raise the moter up to change bits as some of the newer plunge routers are able to do. (I solved this problem by purchasing the Benchdog Promax Router Lift from Amazon. Addmittedly, I could have continued using the router plate insert and just keep taking the router motor in and out by lifting if out of the table, but the Promax solved several other issues as well, thus justifying the money spent).
And, you need two wrenches (supplied by Porter Cable with the 7518) to change bits. It would be nice if this router had a collet stop locking button, such as found on other routers like the Hitachi MV12, which requires only one wrench to loosen the collet.
